Cosmetics Europe sets up a technical ingredient consortia on 4 cosmetic ingredients
08/02/12
Technical ingredient consortia are created on Formaldehyde (CAS No 50-00-0), Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) (CAS number: 541-02-6), Polyaminopropylbiguanide (PHMB) (CAS numbers: 32289-58-0 / 27083-27-8) and Aluminium salts. The aim of the consortia is to prepare and submit safety dossiers related to the use of these ingredients in cosmetic products in order to ensure their continued use under the EU cosmetics legislation.
The technical ingredient consortia managed by Cosmetics Europe are self-funded consortia which are open to Cosmetics Europe members as well as non-members including suppliers. Consortium members will accept to contribute a share of the costs incurred by the consortium and to accept the conditions stipulated in the consortium contract, which will be developed and agreed by the consortium members. Consortium costs can entail costs for legal support, technical support from an external consultant, purchase of data, funding of studies, etc.
A call for participation in the above mentioned consortia is currently ongoing. The deadline for response is 15 February.
For further information and/or to express interest in participation in any of the above mentioned consortia, please contact Cosmetics Europe (ecoelis@colipa.be).
